The Bank of Baroda recently unveiled the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) RuPay reloadable prepaid card, aligning with the government’s initiative of “One Nation, One Card.” This strategic move aims to streamline payment methods across diverse transportation systems.
The NCMC RuPay Platinum EMV chip-enabled contactless prepaid card, introduced by the Bank of Baroda, stands as a versatile nationwide transport card. Its commitment lies in simplifying payments for a plethora of transportation modes, encompassing Metro, buses, trains, cabs, ferries, tolls, and parking. Beyond transport payments, this card extends its utility to everyday transactions, including ATM cash withdrawals and purchases via point-of-sale (POS) and e-commerce platforms.
Accessible to both customers and non-customers, the card can be obtained at Bank of Baroda branches and promptly activated for immediate use. The functionality spans across online transactions and offline interactions at NCMC-specific terminals, as communicated by the public sector bank.
The online wallet allows a maximum balance of Rs 1,00,000, while the offline wallet permits a maximum balance of Rs 2,000 at any given time. Cardholders possess the option to infuse funds into their online wallet through a dedicated portal provided by the bank. Simultaneously, the offline wallet can be replenished at designated NCMC terminal locations situated in transit areas. Compatibility extends to all RuPay e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale terminals, and ATMs. Transaction notifications reach cardholders through text messages sent to their registered mobile numbers.
